RRM Publications Talents and Events is a DTI -registered entity that is engaged in publishing; organizing and staging modeling competitions, personality searches and beauty pageants; and scouting for, representing and handling talents (i.e. ramp and commercial models, singers, dancers, musicians, emcees, etc.)

PAGEANTS AND MODELING COMPETITIONS

Natatanging Ginoo’t Binibini ng Overseas Filipinos

One of the two annual flagship projects of RRM Publications Talents and Events, the search for Natatanging Ginoo’t Binibini ng Overseas Filipinos, was conceptualized with the objective of honoring and paying tribute to our kababayans abroad by way of a unique pageant wherein the candidates are all family members and close relatives of OFWs, immigrants, permanent residents abroad, seafarers, and the like).

The first edition of the pageant was held on June 7, 2006, Migrant Workers Day, at SM Megamall’s Cinema 4. Starting next year, the pageant will be called “Ginoo’t Binibini ng OFWs.” The change in title is being done not only for purpose of brevity but also to give special focus on the OFW aspect of the pageant.

KOUROS Male Model Search

In 2004, seeing the need for a venue that would serve as a springboard to bigger and better opportunities for young men who wish to embark on a career in ramp and commercial modeling, RRM Publications Talents and Events conceptualized a search and gave it the unique title o
f “Kouros,” the ancient Greek word for “male youth.”

Kouros is a modeling search and is aimed at professionalizing such types of competition. Although the Kouros concept revolves around the beauty of the male physical form, the search itself is not merely a display of masculine shapes and contours per se but is one that gives premium to such physical aspects in setting high standards for Filipino male models. It can be said that the Kouros search is a tribute to male pulchritude and to the Filipino male as an individual to reckon with in ramp and commercial modeling.

TALENTS

RRM Publications Talents and Events represents a number of ramp and commercial models, first-rate singers and dancers, some of the finest fashion designers, high-caliber fashion directors, AVP artists, talented emcees, stylists, make-up artists, etc.

MPFM is NOT replacing KOUROS

The Search for The Most Promising Filipino Model (MPFM) is not replacing Kouros, the male model search of which MPFM is sort of an offshoot. Kouros, which will retain its original format – that of a face-and-physique contest – will still be held within the year.

Speaking of Kouros, among its past candidates were Haron “Ron” Morales and Alvin “Vin” Asuncion. Ron placed second to Carlo Guevara in last year’s Be Bench Model Search. He was a Kouros candidate in the competition’s first edition in 2004. It was, in fact, Ron’s first exposure in modeling.

Vin, on the other hand, was among the Final 15 in the same Bench search. He was Kouros 3rd runner-up in 2005. Vin was later handpicked by the local franchisor of an international male pageant to represent the Philippines in the 2006 Mr. International pageant in Singapore where he won the Mr. Photogenic award. Vin (a.k.a. Ken Escudero) recently appeared as one of the male leads in the independent digital movie, “Sikil,” which made the rounds of the international film festivals.

Other Kouros alumni who made good after joining the search were Carl RosadiƱo (Kouros 2006 1st runner-up) and James Banzon (Kouros 2006 3rd runner-up & Mr. Photogenic) who both won the title in Slimmersworld’s Bikini Bodies 2007 and Great Bodies 2007, respectively. Jun Danganan, also a Kouros 2006 candidate, won 2nd runner-up in Great Bodies 2007.

WATCH OUT FOR THE FEMALE EDITION

This early plans are already afoot for a female edition of the contest. To be aptly called Search for The Next Most Promising Filipina Model, the competition is slated sometime in the second half of this year. To be presented again by Psalmstre, MPFM-Female Edition could be the next big thing in the modeling competition scene. So watch out for it!
