FILIPINO-ARAB IS THE MOST PROMISING FILIPINO MODEL 2008

A 22 year-old nursing student from EAC won the first Most Promising Filipino Model (MPFM) title in simple but elegant rites at the PETA Theater Saturday evening. Justin Al-Shargi bested 24 other candidates in the first edition of the search which aims to discover fresh talents who have the potentials of making it in ramp and commercial modeling.

Adjudged 1st runner-up was 23 year-old Jeff Surio, a Math teacher who has won many model searches during the past year. 2nd runner-up was 23 year-old Glenn Victor del Rosario, a Respiratory Therapist and part-time model. 3rd runner-up was 22 year-old Fil-Am Bryan Baculi, a PBL player and a neophyte in modeling. 4th runner-up was 19 year-old UST Nursing student Enzo Quitiquit. Al-Shargi, Baculi and Quitiquit are first-timers in modeling competitions.

Special awardees were Glenn del Rosario (Mr. Photogenic), Bash Asuncion (Best in Casual Wear), Jeff Surio (Best in Swimwear), Patrick Perlas (Best in Formal Wear), Jomar Garcia (Discovery of the Year) and a special recognition to Jose Macapangal, an aspiring boxer.

Prizes were P20,000 for the winner and 15k, 10k, 5k & 3k for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th runners-up respectively.

MPFM was produced by Nonot Arrespacochaga and the tandem of Rokie Caballero and Tony Tan of The Agencie, Inc., presented by PAGCOR and Enchanted Kingdom, and organized by Rhoel Raymundo Mendoza of RRM Models, Events & Publications which also organizes the annual Kouros male model search.
